Watch those memberships on your cc statements

I am having to follow up on two memberships that I cancelled but still got billed to my credit card to the tune of $34.97. I've taken care of one account and should see two of the three charges reversed on my credit card. Waiting to get the third charge resolved. Be vigilant and don't let the charges slip through! Cancelling means it's cancelled and they have no right to try and charge you anyway.

    I had a few show up too, even tho I had my cancellation numbers. I have taken a break from these offers, as I've really only had one that turned out as advertised. Too much thinking involved for me right now!! Maybe later when I'm not working, but now.........they don't end up being exactly free for me, when I factor in my time and the frustration at trying to cancel and then finding out the gc wasn't going to be put in the mail if I cancelled. Then to find them billing me!!!

    I have gotten all of the benefits advertised in the offers, but having to cancel twice and get charges reversed is a headache I can do without. After the next one comes through, I think I'm done too.

    i just checked my discover card statement on line and shopping essentials did not credit my $20 at the end of the month for my discount for purchasing the $100 in gc's.... so, i emailed cs.....i haven't had anything show up so far, thanks jen, i will keep a sharp eye open..

    I think the message here is to keep track of cancellation numbers, dates called and names of people you speak to, so that you're armed with all of the information you need if/when the time comes to dispute a charge.

    update:
    shopping essentials denied my $20 rebate money for the $100 gift card purchases because i cancelled... bummmmmed......
