Ending trial memberships

March 7th, 2006 at 09:30 pm

I cancelled three of my four trial memberships today. It was fairly easy and quick, but I wanted to mention something for others trying this out. When you call, the customer service person will try at least once, sometimes up to three or four times, to leave your account open. And they will say things like, "I'll send you some more information about the benfits that you may not have realized you have with us and leave your account open while you have a chance to look through it." Just keep saying, "No thank you, I'd like to cancel," and eventually they do give you a cancellation number.

Thanks for the tip on this. I've stepped cautiously into this trial memb. bit.........and have 4 open at this point. I'm anxious to cancel, but think it's a tad too soon still. I'm pretty pigheaded, so I think I can hold my own with the pushiest salesperson. Smile

You can cancel any time. The ones through Triligent (?) are pushy. I did stop one cold by telling him I would be traveling to say good-bye to my dying father and would not be available for the trial. After he composed himself, he did try to send me over to the traveler's trial membership LOL.

I love those gift cards, but I hate cancelling! I just tell them right off the bat that I am calling to cancel and no I am not interested in any other offers or keeping it longer. Then I ask for my confirmation number... Sometimes it works, sometimes they still try to get me, but oh well... My goal with is is to get off the phone asap, lol!
