More highlights talk

I was reading kashi's journal about her new haircut and highlights, and it got me thinking about my own hair. Last November, I decided to do something about my hair since I was tired of not liking it, so I got highlights done. I loved them and promised myself I would keep up with them every three months or so. Uh huh - do the math....it's now been 5 months since I've been. The honest truth is I'm having a hard time letting myself spend the $90-$100 on my hair. But I really did like how they turned out, and almost every week I think about setting an appointment. And then I don't. Hmmmm.....

On another note, I am going to see if there is any interest among the other hs'ing families I've been getting to know in renting out a plot in our community garden for all of us to share in, as sort of a weekly group outing. I'll do it if others are enthusiastic about it.

    hehe...when I saw your subject title, I wondered if it was about hair. Wink In a way, I think of it as an investment in myself. I feel better, more confident, I walk differently, etcetc when I know my hair looks good and people compliment me. Honestly, though, the last time I got mine done was in August. My stylist was teasing me about being her every-six-months client. The good thing is that it's almost summer, so you'll probably be spending more time outdoors, which means your hair will lighten naturally. That's partly why I got mine done now...I probably won't have to have the highlights redone again right away since I'll be getting more sun exposure. (oh lovely summer!!)

    Everything you say is true... It's as if I can spluge in small amounts here and there (that add up of course) but feel funny when it means shelling it out all at once! But thank you for the reminder that with summer coming I probably can easily push back the next appointment after this one. Wink I'm amazed that my hair looks as decent as it does, given how long it's been since I had the highlights done. Which makes me think just how much nicer it would look if I'd get my hair back in there!
