Coupons from Flash and in the mail

September 24th, 2006 at 01:37 am

I got my cat/dog coupon prize package today. As a result, I also found Nutro's web site and signed up for their frequent buyer club and $20 in coupons: www.nutroproducts.com.

I emailed Fresh Express earlier in the week, as I had thrown out a bag of spinach in response to the current e. coli scare and wanted to find out what they were doing for customers. I received a very nice reply by email and a letter in the mail today with a coupon for a free item as well as a 55 cents off coupon. Good customer service.

I finished my online trffic school and now have to go to a UPS store to take the test. Please cross your fingers for me that I have not waited too long and that the test will get processed in time. Procrastination is a bad, bad thing. Frown

nice start to the weekend

September 16th, 2006 at 09:07 pm

We had a picnic dinner last night and splurged on Starbucks lattes this morning. A relaxing start to the weekend. Smile I need to make a grocery list and get out to the store this weekend. Such fun.

Today our last two kitties go to their new home. It will be a sad afternoon, but they are going together and going to a loving home, so it's good in the end.

August 1.... (new kitten photos!)

August 1st, 2006 at 03:01 pm

One of the things that has been on my to-do list is take some money that we've had set aside for DD and find a better way to invest it. I have some funds bookmarked, so this month I'm going to go back and look at them and try to take some action.

August...four weeks left of summer for me. Time has gone by way too fast this summer. I still have a lot to do and figure out so that I am comfortable the first day of school.

I'm almost ready to put DD's new loft together. I'll check to see if anything needs a little more paint, and I'll see about getting some 3/4" plywood to support the mattress, and then it will be ready to assemble! DD is looking forward to trying out her new bed.

Lunch tomorrow with friends fell through, so I don't need to worry about getting things together for that. Hopefully DD and I can get to the pool at least once this week. Things have cooled off considerably around here, and we are back to having thick fog in the mornings. If it burns off before lunch the afternoon will be nice. I'd like to go to the pool, given we have passes tha are already paid for and so it makes for what fels like a free activity.

Have I mentioned the kittens lately? They are doing great. They are on to kitten food now, though I still give them some milk in a bottle once or twice a day too, just to be sure. I had to move them into our bathroom, as they were climbing up and over the enclosure that I had them in. I have some recent pictures; I'll attach one. They are so fun.

Not finance related, but cute... Smile

kitty formula a dollar off today

July 13th, 2006 at 10:32 pm

I called around to find the cheapest price on the kitten formula I have to buy the last time I bought some, and when I went in today it was marked down by a dollar. That was a pleasant surprise. The kittens are growing nicely, and eating more and more each day.

Here is a picture from last Saturday.

fostering four kittens!

June 28th, 2006 at 11:17 pm

DD and I agreed today to foster four kittens. We think they are about 10 days old, and they are sooo cute!

Nothing financial here - just wanted to share some fun news and a sweet picture. Smile

My other kitty

April 12th, 2006 at 06:33 pm

After seeing Kashi's two kitties, I thought I'd post a picture of my other cat. We adopted her from a shelter in 1996, and she was anywhere from 2-4 years old at the time. She is as sweet as can be.

This picture is actually about 5 years old.

Kitty is sick

April 10th, 2006 at 10:55 pm

I'm worried our male kitty has a UTI or blockage, so we're off to the animal hospital this afternoon. Wish him luck. Frown

UPDATE: We are back and our kitty is home with us. Thankfully there is no blockage. He's got an antibitotic that ought to take care of things. I had a cat when I was a little girl that died from a urinary tract blockage, and that was what was worrying me here.
